Hi, my name is Alex Fazekas. I'm the owner and operator of The Stump Wrangler stump grinding and tree removal service. I started this business in 2013 and I'm proud to say that every year has been bigger and better than the last!
I offer full tree removal services, emergency tree removals including pruning and storm damage and tree stump grinding/stump removal. I also offer on-site wood splitting. I'm a registered company and I carry full liability insurance. My equipment is new and well maintained. I use a Toro STX-26 grinder. Its a tracked machine that I can get in almost anywhere but its small enough that it won't damage your beautiful lawn. My tree climber has over 35 years experience and is an expert at what he does.
We do residential and commercial tree work. We also do municipal contracts and are available to sub-contract for other tree companies. If you own a tree service, landscaping company or property management company give The Stump Wrangler a call. Let's work out a mutual agreement that I guarantee will be beneficial for the both of us.
I'm recommended by some of the largest tree companies in Southern Ontario. I've earned my good reputation through hard work and honesty with my customers. When a potential client told me they called three different tree companies about a tree stump she needed removed and all three companies told her I'm the guy to call, I know I'm doing something right. So if you're looking for any type of tree work or stump removal give me a call. You'll be very happy you did.
At The Stump Wrangler we offer a full range of tree services. From full tree removals including emergency tree removals and storm damage, pruning and stump grinding/stump removal. We also offer on-site wood splitting. Whatever your tree work requirements are, we can help. And, as always, estimates are free and no-obligation.

"Alex ground out 4 stumps for me. While he was here I asked him to give me a quote on 3 trees in my backyard I wanted removed. He gave me a great price and he and Dave, his tree guy, came back and took them all down. They were done in about 3 hours, including grinding the stumps. They cleaned up all the brush and did a great job. Alex even ground out another stump I found when I was doing some landscaping. I will definitely recommend him to friends and family!"

'What areas do you serve?'

Basically, anywhere in Southern Ontario. Wherever a job needs to be done, contact me. You'll be very happy you did.
What is the cost to grind out a stump?'
-The cost is based on the size of the stump and if there are any exposed roots that also need to be removed. Multiple stumps receive a volume discount and are based more on the time it will take as opposed to the collective size of all the stumps.
'How is the size of the stump determined?'
-The stump is measured at ground level. It is the diameter at the widest part of the stump.
'When you are grinding a stump are utility locates required?'
-Yes, whenever you are digging below grade (below ground level), a utility locate is required by law. When you decide to use my service I take care of all the locate requests at no additional charge to you, the customer.
'What forms of payment do you accept?'
-We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Cheques, E-Transfers and of course Cash.
'What is included in a full tree removal?'
-In a full tree removal we cut down the tree, remove all of the brush(limbs, etc), and then grind out the stump.
'Why should I pay to grind out the stump? Can't I just leave it?'
-I always recommend to my customers not to leave the stump for a number of different reasons.
1-It's not a lawn ornament, it's a dead tree stump.
2-Leaving a stump in the ground can be a safety hazard. Children playing in the yard could trip over it or when you're cutting the lawn if you run over it you could break off the tip of the lawnmower blade which could become a very dangerous projectile.
3-Even though the tree has been cut down, in some species, the tree will try and regenerate itself and the stump will sprout shoots called suckers or small shoots will start popping up all over your lawn as the tree fights to survive. The only way to stop this is to grind out the stump.
4-It can be a haven for pests. Contrary to what some people think, Carpenter Ants don't eat wood. They burrow into it to make their nests to lay their eggs. They eat what you and I eat. If the stump is in close proximity to your house, within 100 feet or so, they will enter your house searching for food. If they find a viable food source they may very well set up a satellite colony inside your house where its dry and food is plentiful. If they get into your walls they can cause very costly amounts of damage and what you would have paid me to grind out that stump will be a fraction of what it will cost to exterminate the ants from your house. Termites are another, even more costly problem altogether.
5-Why cut the grass around the stump and then have to get out the trimmer to cut up close to it? Remove the stump, plant something else there or lay down a bit of soil and plant some grass seed and have the beautiful green even lawn you want without an ugly tree stump sticking out of the middle of it.
"If I leave the stump won't it just rot away?'
-Some stumps will start to rot away in a couple of years. Others may take 20 - 30 years to rot. Are you willing to wait that long to save a few dollars?
'What about any roots that are left?'
-Once the stump is gone any roots that are left underground will rot away over time.
'Will your machine fit in my backyard?'
-As long as the opening is 33" wide my machine will fit through it. It is so nimble and compact that it can get into spaces that no other stump grinder can get into. It can go up and down stairs and get into raised planters or beds like no other machine. A lot of my calls are from other tree companies who's stump grinder is too big or otherwise not able to fit into an area where the tree stump is.
I take pride in my work and I love making my customers happy!
